Taste and see that the LORD is good;
                      How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! - Ps 34:8

LION’S SHARE

By Claudia Packard

Pastor Bonnke said something in the interview that really stirred me.  He said that the Gospel does not need to be defended; it just needs to be loosed.  He continued by saying “Does a lion need to be defended? No, let the lion loose!”

Sometimes as Christians we forget that Jesus, the returning Messiah is coming back in glory and in victory. “But one of the twenty-four elders said to me, "Stop weeping! Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David's throne,* has conquered. He is worthy to open the scroll and break its seven seals." Revelation 5:5 NLT

While many, including some in the church, will forecast the defeat of the church that is not what the Bible has to say about the end.  The book of Revelation in great detail outlines the plans and plots of man but ultimately Jesus is the victor.  The Lion from the tribe of Judah is on the throne in glory and in authority.

We are more familiar with knowing Jesus as the Lamb of God.  The perfect, sinless offering who took our place on Calvary so that we might not die in our own sins; but be saved by the blood of Jesus. “He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.”  Isaiah 53:7KJV

Jesus may be the merciful, compassion, tender Lamb of God but Jesus Christ is not defeated, Jesus Christ is not powerless and Jesus Christ has not stopped seeking the lost! “And from Jesus Christ, [who is] the faithful witness, [and] the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,” Revelation 1:5

Jesus will return in glory and He will take the Lion’s share.  His portion is to rule and reign over all of the earth!  His victory is over all on the earth!  The Lion of Judah and the Lamb of God will be enthroned in honor and glory in complete victory over God’s enemies. The peace of God and His glory will be loosed on the earth and none will be able to deny it.

We have nothing to fear; we have only to remember who we are in Christ Jesus and with boldness given by the Holy Spirit and with a surety of Jesus Christ let us loose the Gospel’s power to change lives and change the destiny of Nations!
